Tae Bo was my solution to getting fit, and it can be yours too! My success story is a testament to the effectiveness of Tae Bo workouts. Billy Blanks' Bootcamp is an outstanding workout DVD series that will leave you sculpted and toned. You can get into the best shape of your life with Tae Bo workouts, and have a great time doing it. Billy Blanks' Bootcamp series is among the best workouts in the extensive Tae Bo collection.

Like many, I discovered Billy Blanks' years ago during late night infomercials--and it's one of the best stumbles in my long history of channel surfing. I have purchased a plethora of infomercial products--Topsy Twirl, Ab Roller, Egg Wave (one of the worst), etc. Like I had been many times before, I was sucked in by the sales pitch, and I went ahead and ordered my first three Tae Bo videos. At this time in my life, I was about forty pounds overweight, and I was desperate to shed the pounds and get fit. Tae Bo was the answer. Billy Blanks' Bootcamp was not the first in Tae Bo collection that I bought, but it has been by far the best and most rigorous and challenging workout I have experienced (Tae Bo and otherwise).

Within five months of beginning my Tae Bo Billy Blanks' Bootcamp DVD workouts, I had dropped the forty pounds that had been weighing me down for the better part of two years. I started out with the "Bootcamp Basic Training" video. The Billy Blanks' Bootcamp series came with flexibility bands, but when I first started the workouts, I wasn't strong enough to complete the 55-minute training video with them on. It probably took about two and a half months before I got through that entire workout with the bands on. It's a tough workout--it is a test of your strength, endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness--but you can follow at your own pace. Just remember not to let yourself get into a comfort zone--always push yourself to work harder, kick high, and flex your muscles more while you do the workouts.

When you finish a Tae Bo workout, you feel like you have really accomplished something--and you'll be right. I always feel like my muscles are more toned. Billy Blanks' Bootcamp workouts are incredible calorie burners. In my opinion, Tae Bo is as good or better than working out on any piece of gym equipment--and I have never felt as though I got as intense a workout from any other exercise video (and trust me, I have done tons of exercise videos).

I attribute my successful weight loss to a combination of developing healthier eating habits and doing Billy Blanks' Bootcamp Tae Bo workouts. Tae Bo was my sole exercise routine throughout my diet. I generally do Tae Bo about three to five times a week, and throughout my diet, I consistently lost more than a pound every week, never hitting a plateau. The Bootcamp series that I purchased came with "Ultimate Botcamp," "Ab Bootcamp," and a 30-minute "Cardio Bootcamp Live" DVD, which is great when you are short on time and want to burn the most calories possible in a hurry. "Ultimate" is really hard to get through--I still have a hard time getting through this one without needing a few extra-long water breaks to catch my breath.

I can't say enough good things about Billy Blanks' Bootcamp videos. I have an exercise bike, treadmill, weight bench, and elliptical machine at home, and they just sit around collecting dust because none of them can provide me with as complete an exercise routine as Tae Bo can. There are so many videos to choose from--in addition to the Bootcamp series. I recommend getting an array of Tae Bo workouts so that you don't get bored. Visit www.billyblanks.com for more information and to see the complete line of Tae Bo videos and products. You've got nothing to lose--except that extra weight and those unsightly love handles! Good luck at Billy Blanks' Bootcamp!

Yankees What Happened To Our Don?

Joe Torre shockingly announced he will retire from the Los Angeles Dodgers, and hands  the reins to successor Don Mattingly today  with two weeks left in the regular season.

It's a move that caught everyone by surprise considering that the Dodgers may want to interview others such as Tim Wallach, but nevertheless Mattingly is the incoming manager while Torre is nothing but a lame duck on the West Coast.

This offseason is promising to be quite the boiling one when it comes to managers and vacant team openings. As for Joe Torre, where will he end up going next season?

You can bet he'll end up with a big market team with a playoff bound roster that is destined for the World Series. Remember he is retiring from the Dodgers, not baseball, so whether he is or isn't we look at Torre's possible destinations this offseason.

Who needs medical school when all you need to do is cover the Dodgers? It surely isn’t get any easier for the Dodgers as they place right-handed pitcher Vicente Padilla on the 15-day disabled list with a bulging disk in his neck. The team will be recalling right-handed relief pitcher Travis Schlichting from Triple-A Albuquerque.

“It’s a blow,” Torre said. “It’s like that other shoe hitting the floor, you hoped it was going to be better after the last one.”

“He’s had a little bit of left neck pain the last two starts,” head medical trainer Stan Conte said. “After the first couple of innings in his last start it started bothering him again. It kind of bothers him a little bit in the neck, a little bit on the left side in between his shoulder blade.”

Padilla since coming off the disabled list on June 19 with a sore right elbow had been remarkable for the Dodgers before his last two starts having a 1.80 ERA in nine starts with a 4-2 record. He hasn’t fared that well in his last two starts giving up 12 earned runs in 9 1/3 innings pitched - the same amount of runs he gave up in his previous nine starts.

“It didn’t show up in the velocity, but it showed up in his command,” Torre observed.

Dr. Robert Watkins, Jr. performed an MRI on Padilla today and discovered the bulge in one of the disks in the neck.

“It’s not a real big bulge, and it’s not pushing on a nerve,” Conte said. “But it’s a bulge nevertheless and probably the source of where his problem is.”

Padilla most likely will not undergo surgery instead receiving an epidural injection tomorrow to help reduce the inflammation.

School: Back to school shopping ripoffs?

Back to school by â–ºbEbO [en vac again]

Back to School Sales Tax Holiday is in August

August is that wonderful time of year when we break off that summer romance, kiss love goodbye and set the alarm clock for back to school days. In August 2007, Americans spent $7.5 billion on family clothing. In case you were wondering, America produces around 9.3 billion pounds of apples each year, with more than half of those apples produced by Washington State. There are 7.1 million teachers in the United States, so that should be plenty for your children to give the teacher and apple on the first day of school.

If you need some financial help with all that back-to-school shopping for the kids, the state sales tax holidays are already scheduled in most states. An excellent resource to learn more about the Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday is Associated Content Producer Irene Lynn's article titled: Back-to-School Sales Tax Takes A Holiday.

HELP - I Need Somebody

If your kids are going to college, you can expect to pay on average around $14,203 for the school year on in-state tuition, room, and board at a four-year university or college. The average tuition, room, and board at a private school will cost you around $38,400 for the school year. Buy what you need for the first day of school but don’t buy too much for the rest of the year. Some items, such as pencils and pens, might be useful to stock up on if there is a great sale. But since many stores overstock on items, you may actually be able to find some bargains by scanning for sales after the back to school rush is over.

Top Reasons The Middle Class Is Disappearing

Middle Class Matters Tour 040808 by Jeanne Shaheen

So I hear the economy in the US is bad, really bad. They say it's equivalent to the great depression and that areas of the country have already fallen into a recession. Did that sentence make sense? Hmm. The historical newsreels I watched in college come to mind. You know, the ones where the people are piled into and on top of cars and trucks heading out on the road to escape the poverty of the dustbowl states. I mean we see it all the time now since we've entered the second great depression.

OK, wait a minute, I haven't seen this mass migration of poverty stricken friends and neighbors piling into their SUV's or 4 wheel drive trucks and heading out of town in search of a better life with nothing more then a suitcase in hand and the clothes on their backs. In fact, I don't see anybody who's changed much of anything in their daily lives. Joe blow across the street, (or is it Joe the plumber, I'll have to check the mailbox) he doesn't seem to be doing things differently. He still has his same job and he still drives there every morning and drives home every night. His wife hasn't left him and his kids look well fed. Hmm. Maybe this deserves a closer look.

I consider myself run of the mill, standard lower middle class. Yes folks, I am part of the poverty stricken middle class that brings in less then 250,000 a year; I hear you have to bring home 250,000 now to be considered high end middle class. Oh, poor me, I can't afford that in ground swimming pool or an open bar at my parties! I don't even have a vacation home on the beach or a time share anywhere. I don't own an Escalade or a new hybrid. Yes folks, in this economy life is tough in the suburbs.

Every news show I turn on tells me how bad I'm doing and it's a good thing I watch them because if they hadn't told me I wouldn't know. Dummy me. I'm poor and I'm pissed about it. I'm mad that I'm probably days away from losing my job. Why do I know this? Because THEY say so! Unemployment is at 6% and hundreds of jobs are being lost daily right here in my state. I'm only a paycheck away from a bread line. You can't see them all the time but I'm catching up quickly to the homeless and dirt poor. They are everywhere, are you blind?!

OK, wait a minute. Where are all these poor people anyway? I mean we always have the poor but shouldn't there be a lot more of them? Millions have supposedly lost their homes so why isn't my local shelter overflowing with these families. I don't see them begging on the streets as our politicians would have me believe and where are all the people walking to work now because they can't afford gas? I hear them talking all the time, it's all over the news, NO ONE can afford gas. I don't know who's buying it but no one can afford it. If they can't afford it why aren't they walking to work? I don't see them walking to work. I don't see any increase in foot traffic at all in my town and I don't see the bicycle shops raking in the money because now everyone is of course riding a bike.

OK, wait a minute. Where are all the bicycle riders? I don't see the bicycle riders. In fact I don't see any decrease in automobile transportation at all regardless of the time of day. And shouldn't there be an over abundance of cars for sale. After all I know they can't afford the payments let alone the insurance. Think of the money they could save getting rid of the families two cars, why they could pay the mortgage with that money. Hmmm

OK, wait a minute.

Things just aren't adding up, but don't tell me I'm being lied to. Don't tell me I'm not just around the corner from financial disaster. I already canceled my vacation because they told me I couldn't afford to go. They think I'm pissed now just wait until I find out I could have gone to Disneyland.
